I am Professor of Polymeric Materials and Head of the Polymer Engineering Laboratory at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), where I lead applied research in polymeric materials and functional nano-coatings . My work focuses on the design of advanced materials, including (nano)composites and layer-by-layer nanostructured coatings, with the objective of translating scientific results into practical, industrial applications. I have led and managed numerous national and European R&D projects, working closely with industry to bridge the gap between academic research and real-world implementation . Alongside my academic role, I am co-founder of SmartDrop, a venture aimed at industrializing research outcomes in the field of functional coatings, further reinforcing my commitment to turning innovation into scalable solutions.
