Graduated in Political Science with an International Degree at the Federico II University of Naples (Italy).
She has always worked in family businesses with different positions in the fields of innovation, product development and merchandising.

She co-founded Yamamay in 2001 and then directed Yamacademy.
Starting from 2019, on behalf of the Pianoforte Group Board, she was in charge of launching the Inticom Spa CSR project and coordinating the sustainability policies of the Group’s two brands, Yamamay and Carpisa.

Since 2020 she is invited to join as a member the General Council of Confindustria Varese and in May 2022 she has been elected as its President of the “Textile and Clothing Merchandise Group”.
Since 2021 she is a Member of the Board of Directors and a Member of the Executive Committee of Confimprese.
Since July 2020 Barbara Cimmino is also serving EURATEX as a Board Member.

She has been a lecturer in Strategic Marketing at the Second University of Naples;in 2021 has been nominated as an Adjunct Faculty Member for the Master in Ethical Marketing and Communication of Sustainability at the IULM University in Milan, and as a Member of the Scientific Committee of the Master Textiles – Design, Innovation, Sustainability at the Galli Art Academy in Como.

In 2018 she founded a charity named “Diana Odv Luisa Romano” and dedicated to concretely support children and women in social and personal difficulties.

She supports and collaborates with companies and associations committed to building an internal sustainability path, favoring the creation of various networks and encouraging open innovation processes.

She believes that sustainable development is closely linked to individual development and for this reason she participates in the Cocrea SA Working Group.
